JANET SALAZAR CARRILLO, Kumeyaay Indian Basket Maker

Janet Salazar weaves coiled juncus baskets and willow acorn storage baskets. She is the sister of Kumeyaay basketmaker Eva Salazar.

Janet lives in the Kumiai Indigenous community of San Jose de la Zorra, Baja California, and supports her three children through her traditional Native American basketweaving.

Janet Salazar's traditional arts and crafts may be purchased at Shumup Ko Hup Indian store in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park.
