Teresa Castro, a traditional Pai-Pai Indigenous artists, poses with yucca stocks used to fire the pottery. Teresa makes coiled piñion pine needle baskets, willow bark skirts, coiled pit-fired pottery, agave fiber sandals and agave net bags for sale across the US-Mexico border.
Teresa Castro lives with her large PaiPai family in the Kumeyaay Paipai community of Santa Catarina, Baja California, on a large remote Indian rancho.
This California Indian artist's work may be purchased at Shumup Ko Hup Indian store in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park.
